What is Aztec Code?

A square 2D matrix symbology built around a central bullseye finder pattern. Unlike QR Code and Data Matrix, Aztec Code does not require a surrounding quiet zone, which makes it useful where printable space is tight.

How it is structured

A central bullseye locates the symbol. Compact symbols use 1–4 data layers; full-range symbols use up to 32. Data is encoded in concentric layers with Reed–Solomon error correction.

Where it is used

Mobile transport tickets, airline boarding passes, event tickets, government documents, and compact industrial labels.
