What is Interleaved 2 of 5?
A numeric linear barcode that interleaves pairs of digits: one digit is encoded by the bars and the other by the spaces. This makes it denser than non-interleaved 2-of-5 variants.
How it is structured
Start pattern, paired numeric data, optional check digit, and stop pattern. Each digit uses five elements with exactly two wide elements.
Where it is used
Distribution, warehousing, industrial cartons, and the ITF-14 GS1 packaging symbol.
Primary specification
See ISO/IEC 16390 for the authoritative specification or publisher record.
