Overview
Defines the standardised vocabulary for EPCIS events - the business step names (commissioning, shipping, receiving, retail_selling), disposition values (active, in_transit, sold, destroyed), and business transaction types. CBV ensures that different companies use the same terms when exchanging EPCIS events.
Why it matters for RFID
Without CBV, EPCIS events would be ambiguous. CBV defines what "shipping" or "receiving" means in a machine-readable way, enabling automated supply chain event processing.
