Overview

Defines the air interface for RFID systems operating at 2.45 GHz (microwave). This frequency supports higher data rates and is used in active and semi-active RFID systems for real-time location (RTLS), vehicle tolling, and container tracking. Less common than UHF for passive tagging due to shorter passive range and higher tag cost.
